Tesla: Cybertruck significantly more expensive than announced
·1 min
Tesla has started delivering its first Cybertruck models, but buyers will have to pay more than initially announced. The low-cost variant of the electric pick-up starts at $61,000, while the most expensive version, called the “Cyberbeast,” costs $100,000. This comes after the initial promise of a price range between $40,000 and $70,000. Tesla CEO Elon Musk admitted that production delays and high production costs have made the model financially challenging for the company. Despite this, Musk believes the Cybertruck is Tesla’s best product and has received over a million orders. Tesla plans to produce up to 250,000 Cybertruck pickups per year, but it may not reach this target until 2025. Tesla shares fell by around two percent after the announcement.
