Tesla Cybertruck Owners Cannot Sell EV Pickup for 1st Year Or They Will Face Lawsuits
·1 min
Tesla Cybertruck owners will be restricted from selling their electric pickup truck for the first year after purchase, according to a new clause in their purchase agreements. Violating this clause may result in consequences, including potential lawsuits initiated by Tesla. The “Cybertruck Only” clause, part of Tesla’s recent Motor Vehicle Agreement, requires customers to keep and own the Cybertruck for a full year without being able to sell or dispose of it. While owners have the option to sell the vehicle back to Tesla, approval is subject to the company’s discretion, and Tesla has implemented a “no reseller policy” due to limited availability. Breaching the terms of the agreement may result in a lawsuit from Tesla, seeking injunctive relief or demanding liquidated damages up to $50,000 or the value received in the sale or transfer of the vehicle. Tesla’s Cybertruck, whose production has been delayed for various reasons, offers unique features and capabilities designed for off-roading and adventure.
